SAYING YES TO US is a Couples Conference taking place November 8-10, 2012 right here on the Wilmore campus.Detailed information about this conference is attached. This will be a great time of fun and learning, with our very own Steve and Carol Stratton, and also with Jim and Carol Shores, whom you may recognize as Acts of Renewal. Check out some of their work , but be prepared to laugh–a lot!
The cost for this amazing time with your spouse is only $179 per couple – yes, per couple; but, IF YOU SIGN UP BEFORE SEPTEMBER 30th, the price is ONLY $149 per couple. Note: Price does not include accommodations, and childcare is not offered for this event.

So how do you SIGN UP? Because our registration system is quite ill right now, all you need to do is email me at lifelong.learning@asburyseminary.edu to let me know you want to attend. I will need your name, your mailing address, and your contact phone number. As soon as our systems are up and running, someone from the Beeson Team will be contacting you by phone to register you and receive your payment. The date of your initial email response to me will determine your rate, so don’t delay!

The office of Community Formation is launching

another experience of Marriage Incubator!

This 9-month enrichment group for couples will focus on developing greater connection and deeper authenticity through the context of education, support, shared experience and fellowship. Every month, couples will cycle through various opportunities, intentionally participating each week in one of the following experiences: the group teaching night, a private couple conversation, small group gathering or a fun date night.

Spots are available for12 experienced* marriages. Applications will be accepted Sept. until 14. An additional hour of conversation may be requested to ensure an appropriate fit for your needs and what the experience is designed to offer. Cost is $35 per couple for the year.

* Experienced meaning a couple who has moved well past the newlywed stage (married at least 3-5+ years) and has encountered the triumphs, testing and trials of their vows.

This summer our seminary experience offers very few events to connect us with one another. As we journey through these months, take the time to seek fellowship with our Lord and with friends, welcome new student families and make new friends. We need one another in our walk with Jesus. As Marilyn Elliott would say; ‘our formation doesn’t happen alone.’

When: May 12^th, from 11:30-4pm (check in is at 11:30, the event starts at 12, and ends at 4pm)

Where: Explorium of Lexington (Lexington Children’s Museum, located in downtown Lexington)

Why: We want to bring children a unique hands-on experience that teaches them about the unique and important cultures that exist around the world. We would like for international children and their families to share that information so that children are given the dynamic experience of learning about others through the eyes of their peers and their peer’s families.

What to Bring: Everything you know about your heritage and country, and any hands-on items you can bring to share with children.

Benefits to being a presenter!

Presenters (International families that will present different things about their culture/heritage at a booth we provide) get into the museum for  free! That includes two adults and all the immediate children in the family.  You are welcome to explore and play after the fair is over. If a presenter’s child needs a break to run around and play, please be sure that there is always an adult with them, and one adult at your booth.

We’ll take care of tablecloths, signs, and tables!

Where to Park for free:

You can park in the Victorian Square Garage for up to three hours free when we validate your ticket.

For completely free parking, you can sometimes find parking along 2^nd street (runs parallel with Short street), Bruce Street, and Jefferson Street. Broadway Christian Church also allows individuals to park in their parking lots on 2^nd street and Saunier (street) if they don’t have any events going on.
