Asbury Theological Seminary announces new director of alumni

DSC_5279b-wWILMORE, KY (December 1, 2009) – Vice President of Advancement and Communications Jay Mansur announces the appointment of Ms. Tammy Cessna as the director of alumni at Asbury Theological Seminary effective December 1.  Cessna will continue to oversee major events program, a position she has held for the past six years, which oversees President’s Retreat and other major events including the inauguration of Asbury Seminary’s eighth president Timothy C. Tennent.

As interim director of alumni, a position she has held since spring of 2008, Cessna has launched the Alumni E-link, which reaches 24 countries and six continents, overseen Asbury Seminary Alumni Facebook and Twitter fan pages, and developed an electronic alumni Christmas card.  She has also been responsible for annual conference alumni events and the Partnering Church program.

Cessna is currently working on her Master of Arts in Christian Leadership at Asbury Theological Seminary and plans to graduate in 2011.  She has three children.  They attend Southland Christian Church.

Vice President of Advancement and Communications Jay Mansur said: “Tammy’s seven years of experience and gifts in building relationships and strategies for engaging people in the mission of Asbury Seminary will serve her well as she revitalizes the alumni association into a dynamic part of the advancement department. She will be building upon the work she has already started and launching new initiatives that will move alumni into life-long missional engagement.  ”
