As you are aware, we are now embarked on a journey of strategic praying and planning for our Seminary.

It is very important to me that we engage as many persons in our community as are willing to be engaged. To that end, I invite you to participate in the Asbury World Cafe conversation.

In my work with the Lexington Seminar, I came to appreciate the World Cafe model for its unique ability to create conversations that have never happened before. These conversations literally have the potential to change the course of the future of an organization like ours. The opportunities before us are many and great. Only together can we discern the will of God for the path ahead. I am attaching to this e-memo a short document describing the World Cafe process.

Will you join me in this work? Please know this is not a requirement of you in your particular role as a faculty member, staff member, or student.

The Florida Cafe will occur on Wednesday, February 10 from 1-5pm in the Harper Room on the Florida-Dunnam Campus.

The Kentucky Cafe will occur on Monday, February 22 from 1-5pm at the corporate headquarters/hangar of the R.J. Corman Railroad Group.

Because this constitutes official work, the Seminary will be closed during these hours to make possible everyone’s participation.

Please click on the World Cafe web link to watch two short podcasts I recorded to provide you with a fuller explanation of what this is about.

I really want you to be a part of this. If you decide to participate, please RSVP and read the short documents, both found on the World Cafe website.

Sincerely,

Timothy C. Tennent
President, Asbury Theological Seminary

  1. It is very important to get the community involved in the ministry as well as giving them the Good News in the process.
